Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SCS SB 568 -- CONVEYANCES IN LAFAYETTE AND GREENE COUNTIES

SPONSOR: Mathewson (Davis)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 13 to 0.

This substitute authorizes an exchange of property between the
Department of Natural Resources and the City of Lexington.

The substitute further authorizes an exchange of property
between the National Guard and the City of Springfield.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the department has a piece of
property on the Lexington river front and the city has a piece
of property of similar size located near the Anderson Historic
Site. Both parties feel the property would be better utilized
if they were exchanged.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Relford.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
